Pigs must have water available indoors and out. Fresh water or mud hole to keep them cool since they do not sweat. The pig does not have access to fresh water in a 24 hour period it will develop salt toxicity. Without water a pig can die within 48 hours. Symptoms of dehydration in pigs are as follows

1. Lethargic
2. Eating not normal
3. Hard to stand
4. Unstable when trying to walk
5.Vomits
6.Tummy pain
7.Dark pee
If pig has been without water for a period of time start offering small amounts slowly adding more over a period of time until pig reaches the normal 2-4 litters a day that pigs drink. Pedialyte and Gatorade are options to add to water to get electrolytes. Signs of pig not getting enough liquids can include the following
1.Thin and bony body
2.Dry nose or sunken in eyes
3.Not peeing as much
4.Constipated
5.Awkward movements
6.Not hungry
7.Less urine

Being creative with indoor bowls is important since pigs will push over any bowl and have mom cleaning up lakes daily.

Indoor water bowls can be tricky when pig is young as they enjoy flipping the bowls. Making a frame and setting bowl inside, doing concrete bowl, attaching waterer to wall, placing boot tray under bowls or underbed totes can help keep spills contained.
A few things that can cause pig to be stressed and not drink like normal
Weaning
Heat related
Vet and getting shots
Transport (strangers or if pig does not ride in vehicle very often)
Change in routine or adapting to his/her new family/home
Adding 100% juice to water if pig refuses to drink plain water or even coconut water. Keep water bowls clean. Gatorade is not the right choice to add flavor to water since it has sweeteners in it. Gatorade works for pigs lethargic and to get their electrolytes up.
Never bring a pig into a/c until body temp is down too normal
